I've heard many people recommend The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, but it has never gotten to my must-watch list. Till now, it is still not on the list and might never be. Even so, I like it.
As the director and leading actor, Ben Stiller's performance is very composed. Unlike the comedian roles he played in other movies, Ben Stiller has brought mature and down-to-earth qualities to the main character, Walter Mitty.
Walter's imagination scenes surprisingly resonate with me. Zoning out on a regular basis is the core of sustaining life, I think. Using a lot of shallow depth of field to represent the moments of fantasy is just like I am often surrounded by a transparent shelter to blocked the outer world.
The last cover of LIFE magazine at the end of the movie is cliche, but it still got a "aww~" with two hands on my heart.
