The simplest; the hardest. My Dinner with Andre thoroughly demonstrate it. A whole film with not many scenes but focusing on the actors' conversation during the dinner has left me deep thinking. The same as in dancing. A simple walk challenges dancers the most to express the routine. I just recalled my thoughts after watching Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel the other day. A great well-done movie that I enjoyed a lot. However, besides the aesthetic cinematography and the setting of scenes, it didn't leave anything in me after seeing the movie.
One might think the conversation in My Dinner with Andre is philosophical and captivating profundity whilst others might think it is nonsensical gimcrack. Whichever you feel. A movie brings you to think. Isn't it worth the time to watch?
