Directed by Woody Allen
Well, it's Woody Allen's film, my favorite director. I won't be fair to criticize the movie. Criticize?? hmm~~Maybe, I shouldn't even use this word. Once again, he is my favorite director.
I won't say "You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger" is Woody Allen's master piece. However, it's still a good, relaxing, and interesting movie. The messy relationships and lives are the most attractive elements. To watch Woody Allen's film, you can simply throw away your mentality, because the logical thinking might not work in his notion. And I truly love the experiences of getting into the director's thought and temporary forget myself.
Ironically, an old man with a young girl plot once again shows in "You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger". I wonder if this somehow projects his innermost fear of losing his wife, also used to be his step daughter, since none of his movies has a happy ending to the old men with little girls. It might also just one of Woody Allen's preferences to set up the relationship like that. Anyway, who really knows, but Woody Allen.
In addition, I miss Woody Allen used to be the actor in his own movies. Since Scoop, he hasn't shown for years. I hope Woody Allen can be back soon.
I didn't talk a lot about the movie itself. Basically, for me, it's more about the experience and sensation during watching the film. As well as this article, the ending of "You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger" is messy, but attractive. Ridiculous, but amazing. Realistic, but surreal. Yeah, it's messy!
Interesting comments, Joey. Those and the film clip make me want to see the movie when it opens in Taiwan. Nice post!
