“Whatever you do in life will be insignificant, but it's very important that you do it because nobody else will.” ― Mahatma Gandhi
I couldn't stop weeping while watching Remember Me. A story that has to be in New York, not because of the sadness, but the variety of complication.
Fortuitously, the casting of the British actor and the Australian actress along with various background supporting roles echos the unique quality of the city and the plot.
I really like Tyler Hawkins' (Robert Pattinson) apartment. It is very New Yorkish. No matter how many times seeing those familiar scenes on the big screen, this magnificent city would just add in a layer to the film by itself. And this is why New York is so irresistible, and I love it.
The moody low tone feeling keeps haunting me through the whole film, but without touching too much the sadness and memory. The love, because of knowing and connecting to each other in deep of their hearts, brings the two together.
You wake up someday not knowing it's the last day of your life or not knowing you are losing the beloved one forever. It is just a wake-up. Tyler's saying is in my head again. Like when someone comes into your life and half of you says, "You're nowhere near ready". And the other half says, "Make her yours forever".
"Whatever you do in life will be insignificant, but it's very important that you do it." So, I love you, ytc.
