Make Way for Tomorrow

I cannot stop crying after the last shot.

As what it says on the DVD case, Make Way for Tomorrow is one of the great unsung Hollywood masterpieces. The visual style is not particularly special, but the sense of freshness molds a profound feeling into the audiences.

I love the director's language on the problem. You see no judgment to the children or to anyone which brings you to the state of feeling so uncomfortable and so right at the same time. There is so much depth that I had to stop and distracted myself from the movie. I think the understanding of people makes Make Way for Tomorrow such a great film.

Special praise to the actor and actress who played the elder couple. I didn't know they were 20 years younger than the characters. The acting is natural without seeing them playing older.

At the end, I encourage you to watch the the special edition features in the criterion collection DVD. http://www.criterion.com/films/2350-make-way-for-tomorrow
